As suitability of exterior for thermal
imaging dependent on weather etc - may
be thermographer inspects separately
and saves data for 2nd stage inspection
with surveyor eg interior
Thermographer targets
anomalies with laser and takes images
(thermal and digital)
If reachable surveyor
either notes, adhesive spots or checks
with NDT meter(s) to eliminate false
positives and lay ground work for invasive
testing
If areas unreachable
surveyor notes on elevation drawings
for later action
Thermographer burns
copies of both sets of images as raw
data to laptop CD or memory stick on
site - hands to surveyor
No thermal imaging
report prepared unless instructed -LIMITED
VALUE AND NOT EVIDENTIAL. Thermographer
leaves as soon as CD burnt.
(If surveyor
wants images enhanced for inclusion
in his report he gives appropriate instructions
- laptop having thermal imager specific
image manipulation software preloaded
